Mom. Entrepreneur. Author.

Tess Kossow

Entrepreneurship has always been my dream job, and after having my miracle baby boy, Ferris, I realized there was no better time than the present to follow this dream and make it reality. Ferris is my last embryo and the answered prayer of faith, love and science through IVF.

I made the decision to become a professional children’s picture book writer and compose the I’m Very Ferris series after leaving corporate America and, once-and-for-all jumping into the risk of starting my own company.

Reading holds a very special place in my heart, and this next stage of my career has me teaching something I am so very passionate about in the lives of children through my picture books.

I’m also training to run the New York City marathon in November 2019.  I love to host parties and celebrate life, no matter how small the occasion! I am the princess of on-line shopping as it gives me more time to be with my family instead of at an overcrowded store.

I have a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from Elmhurst College, which is also where I met Dan.  After several years of traveling and building our “dream home” with our pup, Mr Big, we are blessed, after a very long road, to have a beautiful rainbow baby.

I am a mother, first and foremost, and everything else comes second.  I believe you really can have and achieve anything you want…but you are going to have to work for it and expect nothing to be handed to you.  I am a do’er and believe in living the good life. Having my health, loving so hard it hurts, and remembering that life was meant to be lived  – that’s what is important.

My husband often calls me his real-life Steve Jobs because I respect what Steve said and live my life and teach my son to believe in the following whole-heartedly:

Here’s to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes… the ones who see things differently — they’re not fond of rules… You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can’t do is ignore them because they change things… they push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.”

My son is all the inspiration I need, and my husband, Dan, is the support system that keeps me going the extra mile in all I do.

I can’t wait to read it to my boys! I also love so much that they will have this book to let them know what we went through to get them here! It really is such a brilliant idea!
